Neapolitan Coffee Tradition from Caffè Caffen
Caffen was founded in 1955 by the Neapolitan Don Luigi Percuoco and is located in northern Naples. The Neapolitans deliver the most powerful espressos we have tasted so far. The wide range of coffee blends is available in various mixing ratios of Arabica and Robusta, with the roastery roasting very intensely and for a long time. To bring out the special aromas in the cup, the beans are roasted using a gentle, long-term roasting process. There is a difference here, as the typical Napoli roasts are roasted even longer than classic espresso. This longer process reduces the acidity and caffeine content of the coffee. The character of these espresso blends is definitely not for the faint-hearted, as it produces a strong, voluminous espresso in the cup, typical of Naples.
