Description
Negus is a red wine made from the Montepulciano grape variety, produced by the Cascina del Colle winery in Abruzzo, Italy. The grapes come from vineyards in the hills around Villamagna and Vacri, at an altitude of 280-300 meters above sea level. The wine is made according to traditional winemaking methods, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks and subsequent aging in French oak barriques for 18 months.
Negus has a deep red color with violet reflections. On the nose, it displays a complex bouquet of ripe dark fruits, spices such as pepper and cloves, vanilla, and licorice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and powerful, with a good structure and balanced acidity. The aromas of dark fruits and spices are complemented by notes of tobacco and leather. The finish is long and persistent.
