Caffè Vergnano 1882 – a family history from Piedmont
Caffè Vergnano 1882 is one of the most traditional names in Italian coffee culture. The story begins in 1882 in Chieri, Piedmont, a few kilometers from Turin. That is where Domenico Vergnano opened a small shop. Coffee soon became the family's great passion – and over generations, the local store developed into an internationally renowned roastery.
From a small shop in Chieri to an Italian coffee roastery
The name Vergnano tells a true family story. In 1930, Enrico Vergnano traveled to Kenya to get to know coffee at its source and to become more involved in the selection of raw coffee beans. In the 1970s, Franco and Carlo Vergnano initiated the next growth phase and built the production facility in Santena. International expansion followed later – yet the Piedmontese roots and the family's connection to coffee remained a central part of the brand.
To this day, Caffè Vergnano stands for a combination of tradition, careful selection of raw coffee, and slow, classic roasting. Different origins and blends are processed in such a way that the individual character of the coffee is preserved. The result ranges from elegant Arabica blends to stronger Italian espresso blends.
